Bard & Banker

Located on Government Street, this traditional pub has been providing patrons with drinks, food, and entertainment since 1912. The building itself dates back to 1868 when it was constructed as a bank.

For many locals, the Bard & Banker is more than just a place to grab a beer or bite to eat; it’s an integral part of their history and culture. In fact, the pub holds several historical artifacts from its past life as a bank including original marble fireplaces and tellers windows. The walls are adorned with vintage photos of Victoria taken during the Victorian era while two grand pianos can be found at either end of the bar – both were originally used by customers who would come in to play music during their visits.

Today, visitors can enjoy classic British-style dishes such as fish & chips or bangers & mash alongside craft beers brewed locally on Vancouver Island. Live music is also featured regularly throughout the week featuring some of Canada’s best folk singers and bands.

No matter what time you visit The Bard & Banker Public House you’re sure to find friendly staff serving up delicious food and cold beverages all in an atmosphere steeped in history.
